What We Do

The forest and land use sector can provide up to one third of the emissions reductions needed to avoid the most severe impacts of climate change.

Forests also provide the basis for livelihood for some 1.6 billion people – including indigenous peoples and local communities – as well as hosting the largest share the world's biodiversity and providing essential ecosystem services.
