The Mekong report presents findings and key recommendations from Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. The country reports and the regional report will serve as baseline documents for the Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP) and its member and partner organizations working on climate change and the rights of Indigenous Peoples.
Reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+) is a key nature-based solution (NBS) for the forest sector. Drawing on lessons from UNDP’s support to REDD+ countries over the past decade, this paper describes crucial areas for policy makers to consider when seeking to enhance their NDCs and support NDC implementation through NBS.
This paper provides recommendations for how government decision-makers can incorporate the full potential of forests for climate change mitigation and adaptation in NDCs under the Paris Agreement. It seeks to inform policymakers in developing measurable policies and actions for NDCs and other national climate strategies and policy documents.
